Little Aromas | Halloween Haul

Eight wax melt pots in a gift box for Halloween

Continuing with my themed posts, tonight I’m talking about Little Aromas limited edition melts, for Halloween. Sarah re-opened the website last month, and I filled my boots with all the Halloween shapes and scents I could get my hands on. The countdown is definitely on now for the Christmas range.

As usual, the re-stock did not disappoint. I ended up buying some other bits too, which I’ll list briefly at the end of this post. I have since purchased two room sprays, as I missed out the first time, and I’m in love. But before I continue, there has been a change to the discount codes. If you’ve been using my personal code LUCY10, you will have noticed that it’s no longer valid.

Instead, first time buyers can enjoy a 10% discount, by using NEWBIE10, and all subsequent orders have the choice of four codes, depending on the level of spend:

  • Orders over £25 – 15OFF25
  • Orders over £50 – 20OFF50
  • Orders over £75 – 25OFF75
  • Orders over £100 – 30OFF100

But back to the Halloween melts now. I ordered the sample box (8x 1oz pots) for £10 and the Halloween shapes box (a selection of 10 shapes) for £10.

Halloween Sample Box

The eight scents that could be found in the Halloween sample box were:

  • Blueberry pumpkin patch: pumpkin infused with blueberries, orange and cinnamon, with vanilla
  • Broomstix: woody notes of cedarwood and sandalwood, with hints of spice
  • Candy Corn: buttery vanilla, with those secret candy corn ingredients
  • Cauldron: liquorice, with hints of toffee and vanilla
  • Day of the Dead: inspired by Lush, citrus with frankincense and neroli
  • Fireworks: eucalyptus, with notes of cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver and amber
  • Pumpkin cheesecake: pumpkin spice, with vanilla and biscuit
  • Pumpkin marshmallow cream: vanilla, caramel and spiced pumpkin, on a sugar vanilla base

Wax melts in Halloween shapes, like pumpkins, bats and ghosts

Halloween Shapes Box

And then in terms of the shapes, I received:

  • Small pumpkins (white) in Pumpkin Cheesecake
  • Small pumpkins (grey) in Day of the Dead
  • Large pumpkin in Pumpkin Marshmallow Cream
  • Spooky shapes (grey) in Broomstix
  • Spooky shapes (tan/peach) in Cauldron
  • Large bat in Blueberry Pumpkin Patch

Favourite scents

If I had to narrow it down to my favourite three scents from the Halloween range, I’d have to go with (in no particular order):

  1. Cauldron – I didn’t know how I’d feel about this one, as it contained liquorice, and it’s an acquired smell (as well as taste!). But the sweet notes really balanced it, and I found it such a warming aroma. It made my living room feel super cosy, ideal for this time of year. The scent throw on it was incredible, and so long-lasting
  2. Blueberry Pumpkin Patch – no surprises here, as it wasn’t in any doubt. I love the sweet-smelling melts. While I couldn’t smell pumpkin as the dominant scent, it was fruity and sweet with vanilla, in equal measure
  3. Day of the Dead – I’d never heard of the Lush product, let alone tried it, but it’s opened my eyes. I obviously didn’t know what to expect here, even from the scent profile, but I loved it. The citrus notes filled the room and it was beautiful. I’ll definitely have to check out the Lush range after trying this scent – and I’m so glad I got two products to burn (I’ve already used the sample pot, but not the shapes)

Five wax melt snap bars in different colours and scents

Other products

As I mentioned, I ordered some other bits – new scents again! I can’t remember all of my order, but I definitely bought a snap bar in English Pear and Freesia, as well as a selection of jelly babies and flumps. I didn’t take a photo of those, as I was focusing on Halloween and Alfie was busy eating the free chocolates Sarah had put in my order.

I also took advantage of Fiver Friday – where you could buy two snap bars for £5 (usually £3.20 each). I ordered four, and all scents were random, so you didn’t know what you were getting. But I’ve got two new ones in Yummy and Velvet Sugar and then two I’ve tried before: Coco Sandalwood and Peppermint Cream (which has gone in my Christmas hamper, where I’m storing all my festive scents).

I’ll probably hold off posting now until I review the advent calendar and/or other bits from the Christmas range. I have so many products to get through in the meantime. As always, thank you Sarah for the wonderful service – you really are the wax melt queen! And if you’d like to try Little Aromas, remember the codes above, and always drop me a message if you want some recommendations or advice.
