Hi,
I’m Lucy and I don’t enjoy shopping.
Well
I don’t enjoy shopping for myself.
I
rarely buy new clothes but over lockdown, I came across In the Style and well I
became obsessed very quickly. Four hauls and about six new outfits (and two
lots of nightwear) later – all from various ranges by Jacqueline Jossa– and here
we are!
While
I still have no real reason to dress up – although I do sometimes for work – I wanted
to share this post. Since we put a full-length mirror up in our landing, more
and more selfies have gone up on my Instagram grid and I actually want to share
more outfit posts.
This
black dress with white polka dot was bought in my second shop and I just love
everything about it. It’s got these little puffy sleeves, which are elasticated.
The skirt is ruffled, yet still floaty and light. And of course, the polka dot
print is super cute. The minute I put it on for the first time, it gave me all
the Spanish vibes – I felt like that little flamenco dancing emoji (just in
black, rather than red).
I’ve
worn it twice so far and haven’t really bothered to style it too much. The first
time was for a workday, as I had a couple of meetings. Then in the evening, we
had friends over for a barbecue, and I teamed it up with my favourite Kurt
Geiger wedges… until my feet were sore. I actually made sangria that night, and
the weather was nice – if I closed my eyes, I could have been in Spain!
The
second time was last weekend. We went to visit a wedding venue and then planned
on having a barbecue at mum’s house. Sadly, the barbecue was cooked and eaten
indoors. This time, I made sure I fake tanned, and wore my simple white Kurt
Geiger sling backs. The weather wasn’t the best and the high winds ensured I
had one or two ‘Marilyn moments’ – especially when it came to getting Alfie in
and out of the car.
It’s
not like me to find a piece of clothing I so instantly love, but I actually
wear this once a week at the moment! It’s definitely going to be my go-to for
any upcoming sort-of-social occasions or just my weekend outfit over the summer
season – as long as the weather stays fine.
Would
you be interested in seeing my other purchases – either in flat lay form or as
outfits? Either on here or my Instagram grid/stories? Please let me know. While
we still aren’t back to ‘normal’, I’m looking for ways to expand my content
offering… it will be a long time before the date days/nights and meals out will
resume on here, I can tell you!
Love,
Lucy xx
