Josh very kindly created a sleep song for baby boy – which has been designed with sleep consultants and music therapists. It’s so soothing, perfect for naptimes or bedtimes. Luckily, he’s always been a good boy at sleeping through at night in his cot, but naptimes are more sporadic. If we are out, he’ll sleep in the buggy, no problem – at home, however, it’s a bit trickier for him to settle for naptime in his cot. Thankfully, the sleep song is just over 10 minutes and can be played on a loop. Now he knows when it is naptime and goes down with minimum fuss. The song has been a real gamechanger for me, especially being the summer holidays.

Alfie also received his very own personalised album, with seven different tracks. Beginning with Hello! and ending with Goodbye! he's taken on many different adventures and lessons in between – from Let’s Play! to What’s the Sound? and (my favourite) Tidy Up! The album lasts around 30 minutes and is so catchy – we all find ourselves singing along. The use of repetition makes it memorable too.

When creating an album, you get to provide plenty of information, which all gets included in your child’s music – their name, their age, other family members, who or what they love, and hobbies, amongst other things. You can even send in personal voice notes or other files and they’ll be included in your exclusive tracks – how cool is that?

Hearing the bespoke music back is such a magical experience for your child. The first time Alfie and I sat together to listen to it, he literally sat so still and took in all the lyrics, noticing things like his hobbies (football), favourite food (pizza party) and loved ones (mummy, daddy, and baby brother). He then started to sing along and even dance along to the lyrics – and you can see Alfie’s reaction to his album in this Instagram reel.

My First Music is aimed at children aged 6 and under and not only does it recognise the developmental benefits of music, but it also fosters musical curiosity, inspires creative play (who knew tidying up could be so much fun?), nurtures emotional well-being and stimulates cognitive growth.
