Last
month, I was lucky enough to go out twice in a week – both times for dinner,
but with a different selection of friends. I just really liked my outfits on
both occasions, so thought I would share them.
Outfit 1 –

I
recently blogged my girls night out at Nonna’s, Woburn Sands. My outfit was
quite simple, to be honest. I bought the jumpsuit ahead of seeing the Spice
Girls. We had planned on going out afterwards, so I bought it to change into –
but we ended up staying at the hotel and going to bed. Finally, I had an excuse
to wear it.
Boohoo
clothes are rarely true-to-size, I find and even though this was a size 8, it
came up quite big, especially around my chest and waist. Thankfully, it had a
ribbon-style tie, so I could do it up. But I needed to tape it to myself. The
length of the arms and legs are meant to be cropped, but when I sat down, I
found the legs rode up far too much and it just didn’t feel right. A shame,
because the stripes and colours are gorgeously bold.
I
decided on my black Kurt Geiger wedges as I recently threw out a lot of my
pairs of heels (I simply don’t wear them anymore), but in hindsight, I think my
Linzi platforms (in black or white) would have worked better.

The
following Friday, I was out again. I had booked the day off work and had been
to get my hair cut (and completely re-styled) during the day. My hairdresser
Zoe is fabulous and said that the lob bob was on-trend at the minute. The last
time she cut my hair, I went shorter and she suggested the cut would really suit
me, so I went for it!
I
decided to channel all my Parisienne vibes to mirror my hair, opting for the
striped top and pleather pencil skirt. The top is slightly cropped, but didn’t
look right with the skirt, so I decided to tuck it in and wear the skirt as
high-waisted.
I
decided to go monochrome for that classic look, which was ideal as the decor in
the restaurant was dark, but glamorous. I was much happier with my shoes with
this outfit, but felt I needed more accessories to really pull off ‘French Chic’.
Two
lovely evenings full of good food, fizz and fashion – and so nice to go out and
socialise to remind me that I’m not just a working mum!
Love,
Lucy xx
