Dress – Chi Chi London
Shoes – Kurt Geiger for Shoeaholics
Bag – Kurt Geiger

I’ve been meaning to post this outfit for ages and as soon as I bought (well Ashley bought it for me...) this dress, I couldn’t wait to wear it and show it off! The occasion was the wedding day of two of Ashley’s colleagues and it was a gloriously sunny day (if anything, too hot) in such a beautiful location.

The dress is from Chi Chi London and while I’ve bought things from there before, it’s honestly the most perfect place to find a wedding outfit – there’s even a specific section for it on their website. The dress comes in two colours: this pale blue and a dusky pink. To be honest, I was torn between the two and actually am really tempted to buy the pink version – but Ashley was planning on buying a pale blue suit, so of course we needed to match. He got light grey in the end, but we still looked good together!

I wish I had got a shot from the back, because the dress is backless. I’d never dream of wearing a backless dress before, or consider going bra-less, but the front has cups sewn in and I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all! If anything, I felt cooler and having my back on show meant I was free. The dress zips up and also ties in a bow along the top, so does look really elegant.

The top section with the floral detail looked a lot fuller and more spectacular online and it was slightly understated when I saw the dress in person. But it’s super cute! And check out the skirt! I honestly felt like a princess; the skirt is quite big so things like getting in and out of the taxi and going to the toilet were a bit of an ordeal... but it was so worth it! It’s the most beautiful dress I’ve ever bought.

I teamed it up with my fave KG sandals, which I wore to Michelle & Will’s wedding last year and have served me well on many a day out (or trek!). I really want them in black for a wedding in a few weeks, but unfortunately they’re (they’re called Ruby, btw) not available from Shoeaholics, Kurt Geiger or any department store in a size 7... if anyone comes across them, help a gal out. But they are super comfortable and can be worn day or night – after 13 hours, my feet weren’t sore or blistered!

My bag was also Kurt Geiger and I had seen it online on Shoeaholics, but head into Centre: MK in search of said sandals and found it in the sale, for £19. While there’s no strap to this clutch bag, it opens out, so you can either just open the popper and have the smaller version, or open it out and use the zip. I had quite a few belongings so did open it out – but it does still fold over, to look compact.

I wish I had taken more photos now, not just of my outfit but the day itself. And all I need now is another reason to wear this dress! Is holiday a good enough reason?
