What I Got For My Birthday 2019

As some of you may know, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago. The celebrations started on the Tuesday as Ash was off work and as I had an interview in London, we all went up and went to Flat Iron – and I opened some presents that evening. On the Wednesday (my birthday), I drove back to Essex to see mum and she took us out for lunch (post to follow) and I opened my remaining presents when Ash got home from work- and we had chip shop for dinner. I’ve just realised that I’ve not photographed or even mentioned everything I got, but I’m super grateful, as I edge ever closer to 30.

I received some lovely flowers and a bottle of wine from my good friend Vicky – and I’m still yet to open the wine! She often uses Appleyard and I’ve received a few bouquets in the past. They’ve always been great quality, arriving in good condition and lasting well. Roses and lilies are my favourites and the blue agapanthus match our kitchen/diner well... plus how cute is my Next vase?!

It’s only right we carry on with the alcohol – and there’s so much of it! We still have bottles leftover from Christmas and I picked up a bottle of Malibu from mum’s when I was there. Everyone knows I love fizz, but Aperol is my summer drink of choice – it has been since I visited Lake Garda. I cannot wait for warmer days to crack it open! I took the prosecco around my neighbour’s for a recent girls’ night in.

To go with all the fizz, I received a couple of Pop A Ball & Monin gift sets. I love the Pop A Ball products and still have some of the rose gold raspberry shimmer. I’ve tried Monin syrups in the past, but only the ones suited to coffee. These fruity ones will be a welcome change and if I don’t use them in fizz, they’d be great for pimping soda water or lemonade!

Ash and Alfie bought me the photos, courtesy of Mixtiles. I’d seen them advertised on Instagram in the past and have since downloaded the app as another order is imminent! The tiles are 8x8 inches and stick to the walls, without the need for nails; they also re-stick, without damaging the walls. These prints look great on our stairs and will look even better when we add to them – it was such a cute and thoughtful gift that also brings a bit of life to our home.

Food is always a good gift for me and I received some Nakd goodies from mum, as well as some Guylian chocolates from my lovely friend Taryn. I don’t think she even knew they’re my favourites and it was a total surprise that she thought of me and bought me a gift.

Finally, not pictured are clothes. Ain’t nothin’ more practical than pyjamas and socks. I received two pairs of pyjamas – a wintry checked pair (Next) and a summery silky pair (Lipsy). Equally as cute are my giraffe-print socks... I love them! I’ll be buying some clothes soon, as I received Next vouchers. I don’t know whether to spend them on work wear, or wait for the S/S collection to come out.

My Nan and Auntie & Uncle in Madrid sent me money, which I’m also saving as there’s nothing I really want at the moment. I think I’ll either end up buying a new hairdryer, or buy something memorable, like jewellery.
