As always, I’ll start with the drinks. I’d never heard of Cape Drinks before, but their lightly sparkling drinks were lush. With a blend of tea and fruit, no added sugar and all-natural ingredients, I thoroughly enjoyed both flavours and would certainly purchase these again. The pineapple & passion fruit was a bit like Lilt, while the peach & lychee was a really delicate, but refreshing mix. I’m sure I’ve seen sirops by Teisseire in the shops and in France before, but I’m totally unsure as to whether I’ve tried them. The zero sugar raspberry & cranberry cordial was lovely. There was certainly no compromise on taste, with the lack of sugar. I don’t think I’d be inclined to try the other flavours though (lemon and pink grapefruit).

The Cirio Borlotti beans went down well with all the family, especially as now it’s getting colder. Ideal for bulking out stews and casserole, they’d make a great alternative to potatoes or even other grains and pulses. I’ve not yet tried the Miso Tasty miso soup sachets, but I often find them quite salty, so not sure how I’ll like these. Similarly, I don’t eat a lot of pasta and don’t particularly like mushrooms, so I was dubious about the Mrs Crimble’s fusilli pasta. It was surprisingly enjoyable, even though it was gluten-free. I shared the sachet with mum and we made it into a meal with some grilled chicken. We definitely could have done with some additional green veg.

Hartley’s is a very familiar brand in our house and we often buy the different varieties of jelly – from the original, to the no added sugar and the 10kcal pots. The strawberry is my all-time favourite flavour, but it was good to try the tropical, orange and raspberry, too.

There were plenty of healthy snacks in this month’s box. Starting with the Chia Bia chia seeds, which I’d tried before. I preferred the whole seeds to the milled, just because I like the texture. I often use these to make chia pudding, overnight oats or even smoothies. Metcalfe’s Popcorn Thins are another product I’ve bought on numerous occasions, so I was pleased to see them featured in the September box. The milk chocolate coating is so moreish. As far as corncakes go, these are definitely the best and Metcalfe’s is the brand I’d always go to first. The Say YES to No crisp breads were a great alternative to crisps or other snacks – the sour cream and onion flavour was powerful. I actually ate these with soup, like croutons.  And finally, Get Fruity have featured in previous Degustaboxes, but it was good to see a different product this time. The raspberry bar contained oats and plenty of fruit – with no added sugar. I would definitely buy these again.
