How quickly is 2016 going? Another month, another favourites post. This past month I’ve been trying loads of new products, so it’s been really difficult for me to narrow it down. I’ve managed to pick all beauty products as well, which is a first for me. So what have I been loving?

The Perricone MD No Foundation serum (Look Fantastic - £45) is an absolute god send for when I feel like going for the minimal makeup look. Alternatively, it’ll be a fantastic product for these hotter months when I make the transition from foundation to a lighter base. The pipette application makes it easy to dispense and ensure there’s no waste. The formula is lighter than a tinted moisturiser and is runny like a serum. Once applied, it’s so light, looks so natural and the coverage is even. I literally put four drops in the palm of my hand and apply with brushes, in circular movements. I absolutely love it, although I’m unsure whether I could justify spending £45 on the product for my summer routine.

I got the most gorgeous dupe for the Real Techniques Bold Metals collection, which I really should share in its own post. The Start Makers eight piece set (Amazon - £12.99) have a great variety of brushes, from contouring and foundation, to eye shadow and general face brushes. I use the smallest one for my brows and the largest one for bronzer – so they really do cover all areas. Okay, so the handles may be plastic rather than metal, but for a fraction of the price, they’re on par with RT. The brush bristles are soft (kabuki) and my makeup looks pretty flawless most days.

To set my makeup, I’ve been using the E.L.F Makeup Mist & Set (E.L.F - £5) and I cannot believe I’ve gone so long without a proper fixer (I’m ashamed to say I previously used hairspray, which isn’t good for your skin at all). This one was super cheap, because I didn’t want to commit to Urban Decay, in case I didn’t like it and I’m really happy with it. It does take a little while to dry, but my makeup stays put all day and into the evening. I only use three spritzes of this fine mist, so I can see it lasting a while.

I’ve been big on red polishes this month and have been alternating between the Ciaté shade Mistress (Ciaté - £9) and the Shu Uemura shade Red Yaz. I had never heard of the latter, but have since seen so many products on Selfridges I need in my life. Both polishes are long lasting and chip resistant. Plus you can’t beat a bold pop of colour on your nails!

Finally, my brother gave me the Valentino Donna (Boots - £49 to £97) perfume and I really like it. I’m not usually drawn towards floral scents (unless you’re counting Marc Jacobs’ Daisy) but this is such a lovely spring/summer fragrance. I am the worst person at describing perfumes, but this is a blend of rose, bergamot, patchouli and vanilla. It’s a really elegant scent, perfect for day or night. I’m a sucker for a nice bottle and this ticks all the boxes. It reminds me a bit of one of my other current faves: Flash by Jimmy Choo.

What were your April favourites?
