My
three month subscription ended with this month’s box – but don’t worry, I have
renewed it for another three months, so you’ll be seeing even more of these
gorgeous boxes on my blog. I’m praying Gemma starts a six-month service, I
would definitely sign straight up! If you aren’t
familiar, Yoohoo is a monthly subscription box for the stationery geeks amongst
us. Each one comes beautifully wrapped (this month’s
was in the lovely zebra print tissue) and fits through your letter box.
Containing items including greetings cards, ‘to do’ lists, prints, stickers and postcards, they also make the
most perfect gifts.
I
always look forward to receiving these boxes in the post and the one thing I
anticipate the most, is the greetings cards included. After receiving a lot of ‘birthday’
cards in previous boxes, I was pleased to see a few more blank and generic ones
this month. I would definitely send these to a family member or friend to catch
up, or just if I fancy sending a card to brighten up someone’s day. I particularly
like the vibrant watermelon print – it’s perfect for spring/summer. Gemma
mentioned on Twitter that the flamingo features every month. I can’t believe I
never spotted it myself, have you? She’s on the birthday card in the March box,
in case you were wondering.
This
month’s print is the beautiful blue butterfly one. I’ve already decided I’m
going to frame this and gift it to one of my friends. As soon as I saw it, I
thought of her. She wears a lot of blue patterned/printed clothing and I just
know she will adore it. Plus it’ll look super cute in her room.
Something
a little different this time round were the note paper and envelope combo. I
have also wanted to receive something similar, to make a change from the cards
the paper is so cute – I love the bold pattern on the header. I used one to invite my mum for afternoon tea and I’m
going to eventually write a note to my Great Auntie. I would personally love to
receive a little hand written letter on this paper.
And
finally to mention all the smaller ‘random’ bits. I am the Queen of lists so
this small chart is so me. I’m not sure whether I’ll laminate it, or even scan
in to re-use. It will be perfect for using as a weekly shopping list, so I’m
sure my mum will also appreciate a couple of copies. My favourite item from the
box is the monthly budget sheet. I’d like to think I was good with money and
since buying my car back in September, I’ve managed to almost re-save that same
amount. My weakness is buying things on a whim, whether it’s DVDs, food, makeup
or bedroom accessories. By using the chart, I’ll be able to save more and also
keep within my means. The emoji cards are super cute and they actually feature
my most-used emojis. The backs of the cards are blank, with a small line for an
FAO. I’m not sure when or where I’ll use them – do you have any suggestions?
As
always, the quality and variety of items was excellent and the boxes are such a
clever idea – and probably my favourite subscription I
have. Like I say, they make an ideal gift because they’re
wrapped and packaged so wonderfully; alternatively, they make a great
self-purchase. The April box is currently on sale for £10.
Love,
Lucy xx
