When
Tantastic
asked if bloggers were interested in trialling their product, I jumped at the
chance. Us Essex girls love our fake tan and I personally feel so much more
confident when I have a bit of colour. After speaking to Graeme via email,
discussing my skin tone and the products I normally use, I received a bottle of
the self-tanning mousse* and the liquid* equivalent, as well an applicator
mitt* - a must-have when applying tan! In this post, I’ll be focusing on the
mousse.
First
of all, I love the bright pink packaging and fancy fonts – both of these make
the product out stand out from competitors in an already busy market. The
cardboard boxes open out fully and not only explain the rest of the Tantastic
range and how to apply the product, but also have a number of handy hints.
I’ve
used mousse-based tanning products before (namely Cocoa Brown and St-Tropez)
and although I found the texture of this mousse on the runny side, I found it
so much easier to apply. You can immediately see where you’ve applied the
product and you only need one layer; I applied two to my arms and legs as I
prefer those to be darker when on show. Of course it isn’t a good idea to apply
tan directly to dry areas such as wrists, elbows, knees and ankles and I used
excess from the mitt there – being sure to moisturise those areas fully to
prevent orange or streaky patches.
The
two best things about the product are that it has no smell, so you don’t smell
like wet biscuit, curry or any of those horrible smells usually associated with
tanning agents. Tantastic doesn’t stain clothing or bedding either. I was sure
to wear black after applying the product, but I’ve slept in white and baby pink
sheets and neither are orange or streaky.
Overnight,
the tan developed well and even after a shower, I felt as though the colour was
still coming through. I found my skin to be darker than it normally would from
other products, but I was informed the mousse has a higher DHA than the liquid.
The liquid product is recommended for those with really fair skin, like myself.
I
would definitely buy the mousse again – despite containing 150ml of product, it
would last for ages. My tan lasted a week before I needed to top it up. If you’d
like to find out more, you can find Tantastic on Facebook,
Twitter
and Instagram.
What
are your favourite tanning brands and methods? Will you try Tantastic?
The results are amazing!
