If
you’ve
not heard of Degustabox, then where have you been? It’s a food & drink
monthly subscription box –
bringing you 10-15 surprise products, many which are new to the market. When
you sign up, you get to fill in your very own profile, meaning a couple of the
products may differ. It’s
actually the highlight of my week when this little beauty arrives on my
doorstep –
so what was in December’s box?

A

Beginning
with the drinks again this month and my pick of the products in the December
box was the What a Melon water. If
you like coconut water, you’ll enjoy this. I found it so refreshing and it had
a lovely flavour, without being too sweet. Apparently, it’s perfect for a
hangover, too! I don’t drink cow’s milk and the A2 milk had featured in a previous box. I gave this to my brother
so can’t comment – and I think he used it when mixing his protein shakes. I did
like the Newton’s Appl Fizzics,
which was like a posh Appletizer! With no added sugar and all natural
ingredients, this hit the spot nicely. The wine
by Eisberg was another product I’d
previously tried, thanks to Degustabox and you certainly couldn’t tell this was
an alcohol-free drink. For anyone doing Dry January, this was a great addition.
There
were various savoury snacks in this month’s box and I had mixed opinions on
them. The Hoots Snacks were similar
to croutons or small crisp breads and were enjoyable. The two flavours I
received were smoky bacon and pickled onion – I definitely preferred the
former. However, I wasn’t a fan of the Bite+
multigrain flakes. I just found them bland in flavour and boring in texture.
Compared to other ‘healthier than crisps’ snacks, these weren’t satisfying and
the salt & pepper flavour had a weird after taste.
I
don’t really eat much processed or convenience foods, so I’m not too sure how I
feel about the Maggi 3 Minute Noodles...
I think my brother will end up eating these. Similarly, the Gallo four cheese risotto is something
I haven’t yet tried – and I’m not sure if I will. I don’t eat a lot of rice at
the best of times.
The
Oh Fudge! Box was a welcome addition
and the apple & cinnamon flavour I received was perfect for this time of
year. Each chunk was bite-sized and individually wrapped. I love the softness
and creaminess of every piece – and the flavours complemented each other so
well. And finally, the Nutri-Brex cereal
is something I’m finally trying this week. I like Weetabix, so imagine I’ll
find this enjoyable. I’m most looking forward to seeing how the coconut &
cinnamon flavours work – but as this is high in fibre and gluten-free, I’m
hoping it will keep me fuller for longer.
