If
you’ve
not heard of Degustabox, then where have you been? It’s a food & drink
monthly subscription box –
bringing you 9-14 surprise products, many which are new to the market. When you
sign up, you get to fill in your very own profile, meaning a couple of the products
may differ. It’s
actually the highlight of my week when this little beauty arrives on my
doorstep –
so what was in February’s box?
·
Two
pots of Hartley’s Fruit in Jelly
·
Two
pots of Hartley’s 10 cal Jelly
·
A
bottle of Sarson’s Malt Vinegar
·
A
packet of Mr Kipling Exceedingly Good slices
·
Two
Beloved Dates bars
·
A
box of Nutribix
·
A
bottle of VitHit
·
Two
bars of Divine chocolate
·
A
packet of Ritz Crisp & Thin
·
Two
bottles of J2O Spritz
·
A
bottle of Nari Palm Juice
·
A
bag of The London Crisp Company crisps
Starting
with the drinks this month, I didn’t even know J2O made sparkling options but I was so pleased to have sampled
these. I don’t really drink juices or fizzy drinks, but these were lightly
sparkling and so fruity. The apple &
watermelon was my favourite. I had tried VitHit before, but not the mandarin
flavour. Considering their ‘health benefits’, I find the drinks too sweet –
I think it’s because I generally just drink water. I’m yet to try the Nari Palm Juice, largely because I don’t
know what to expect. I’m really liking the lemon
& ginger flavour combination at the moment, so I’m sure the drink will
be enjoyable.
The
London Crisp Company prawn cocktail
crisps went down well. They were perfectly seasoned and so crunchy. Unlike
other prawn cocktail crisps, these weren’t bright pink or orange and the
flavour wasn’t too over-powering, so it wasn’t so ‘artificial’. I would buy
these again. The Ritz Crisp & Thin were
also good and I’d previously tried these at work, when they were on offer in
Sainsbury’s. They were so flavoursome and I portioned these up in sandwich
bags, because they’re a great alternative to snacking on crisps.
I
expected big things from the Nutribix
cereal because I’m a lover of Weetabix/Protibrick. I was so disappointed
though. I didn’t like the taste or texture. I usually heat mine up as well and
this really didn’t work with Nutribix. I’m hoping I can blitz them up to bulk
out a smoothie.
We
often have pots of jelly in the
fridge and as a household, are familiar with Hartley’s. The 10 cal option was lovely and not too sweet – I could
really taste the fruit juice as well. I definitely preferred the fruit in jelly
option, even though I don’t like peaches. I’ve stopped eating desserts, so
these made a nice treat.
There
were loads of treats in February’s box: the Divine chocolate bars barely touched the sides – even though I
tried to limit myself to a square a day, so they lasted a week. The caramel
centre was so creamy and dreamy. The Beloved
Dates bars were also a great afternoon snack and I found them a lot more
filling than my favourite Nakd bars. I haven’t seen these in shops since,
unfortunately. I really liked the Mr
Kipling cakes too. I’m not usually a fan of orange flavoured things, but it
worked well with cranberry and oats. I shared these with the girls at work and
they went down well.
Finally,
you can’t beat Fish & Chip Fridays (definitely a thing!) – and what better
condiment to drizzle over your chips than vinegar. We only have Sarson’s in our
house, so this was incredibly popular. Now I’m craving chip shop...
What
were your thoughts on the February box?
Love,
Lucy xx
