July favourites

This month, I’ve been...
WEARING  statement jewellery
I used to love costume jewellery when I was at Uni – I was forever buying bits in places like Primark and H&M. Although these days, I’ve stopped that, I bought a couple of pieces this month and my mum also gave me some she didn’t like. My fave bits in July are these gold chain necklace from New Look (more about that, here) and this elasticated gold bangle from Primark. Both instantly add attitude to a boring outfit, while I’ve also been wearing the necklace to glam up dull work clothes!
TESTING  Clarins instant eye makeup remover
When I recently placed a Clarins order, I was given the option to choose three complimentary samples at the checkout and one I chose was this eye makeup remover. I love it and I’ll definitely be purchasing the full-size product as soon as this mini is empty. It doesn’t irritate the eyes and is gentle, has a lovely smell and you only need the smallest amount, or else it’s too oily. I’ve been using it every evening for a month and as you can see, there’s still around a week’s worth left. It’s great for heavy eye makeup and waterproof mascara and removes all traces in one quick movement.
SMELLING  Roger & Gallet Gingembre Rouge
I fell in love with this summer scent when I received it in my Latest in Beauty: Dream Box, so it wasn’t long before I bought the 100ml bottle (only £32 on Feel Unique, btw). It’s fruity yet has a sort of spice to it and it reminds me a little of Escada’s summer fragrances (which is always a winner in my books). It’s beaut – plus the bottle is pink! I’m so glad I’ve found Gingembre Rouge as it’s perfect for summer and even better when it’s kept in the fridge.
EATING  Hotel Chocolat’s Classic Selection
When I got a code to receive a Hotel Chocolat selection box and free nibble box, with free delivery for £6.95, I snapped it up. I have since joined their tasting club and have selections sent to me every three months (you can also use monthly or bi-monthly). At weekends I always treat myself to a couple of chocolates and I love how unusual some of their flavour combinations are (I received Coconut tingle which contained a white chocolate ganache with chilli and coconut!). Each selection is always different and you can even score your chocolates.
LOVING  white stilettos
I realise this is really clichéd, being an Essex girl but this month I’ve been loving my AX Paris white stilettos. I’ve worn them to every social occasion imaginable and I think I’d probably wear them to work as well, if I could. They’re surprisingly comfy – even after being on my feet all night! Weirdly, I walk in them better after a few glasses of prosecco! I’m trying to incorporate more white into my wardrobe and these are just lush!
LUSTING  Triangl bikini
Everyone’s talking about them and I want one! I’ve already bought a couple of bikinis for my holiday next month but I really want a couple more. I find my body shape is the most awkward to buy for though: I can’t buy sets as even though I’m a size 12 dress size, bikini tops in a size 12 are far too small; I’m always better off just buying the top in my bra size. It’s so annoying! Anyway, my favourite is the Milly – Arizona Sunset but I just can’t justify £65 on a bikini (boo!).
What were you loving in July?

  1. I don't own any statement jewellery! I feel like I'm missing out!

And triangl bikinis are so worth it. I bought one for my holiday and fell in love with it!
